Clear Aligners
Misaligned teeth can cause feelings of embarrassment and lead to oral health problems.
If you have misalignment and you want an orthodontic solution that's more discreet than traditional braces, clear aligners may be for you.
Colorado Premier Dental offers SureSmile® aligners to straighten teeth in six to 18 months. We serve Lakewood, CO, and beyond.
What Is SureSmile?
Like Invisalign®, SureSmile is a series of aligner trays that puts gentle pressure on the teeth to gradually reposition them until patients achieve their ideal alignment. SureSmile is worn for 20 to 22 hours each day, and can be a great alternative to braces if patients only require minor adjustments.
The unique benefit of clear aligners is that they're a discreet way to straighten teeth. Though children as young as 12 can be candidates for removable aligners, many teens and adults prefer this orthodontic treatment because they may feel uncomfortable being seen with bulky metal braces. Meanwhile, because the aligners are removable, no foods are off-limits, and it's easy to brush and floss.
Which Dental Concerns Can Aligners Correct?
Like braces and Invisalign, SureSmile aligners can address a wide array of dental concerns, including:
- Crooked teeth
- Overcrowding
- Overbite
- Underbite
- Crossbite
- Open bite
- Spacing concerns
Though aligners can correct minor misalignment, traditional metal braces may be the best treatment option in cases of severe misalignment.
The Clear Aligners Timeline STRAIGHTEN YOUR TEETH IN 4 SIMPLE STEPS
We are committed to providing patients with the highest level of care.
Caring for Your Aligners
Clean Your Clear Aligners
Like Invisalign, your SureSmile aligner trays should be cleaned with a soft-bristle toothbrush, non-abrasive toothpaste, and room-temperature water twice a day when you brush your teeth. When not cared for properly, your SureSmile aligners can contribute to tooth decay or become warped, making them unwearable and potentially lengthening your treatment timeline.
Remove Aligners When Eating
When drinking anything other than water, or when eating meals, remove your clear orthodontic aligners to prevent them from becoming discolored. When not in use, store your aligners in their protective case.
Practice Proper Oral Care
In between visits to the dentist, take care of your teeth by regularly flossing, brushing, and using an oral rinse. Be sure to clean your teeth before wearing your aligners to help prevent bad breath, stains, and cavities.
Shouldn't I Visit an Orthodontist INSTEAD OF A DENTIST?
Although orthodontists can provide you with orthodontic treatments like braces and clear aligners, dentists can undergo special training to provide patients with aligners. Dr. Brian J. Polidori is proud to offer this service so his patients don't have to be referred to an orthodontist to correct minor misalignment.

View on GoogleEverybody in the office is very friendly and helpful. The doctor really cares about patient's dental health education. He spent at least 3 times as much time as other doctors would spend to explain the correct procedures to take care of my teeth. He answered all my questions and I am very satisfied with his recommendations.
